Application Support Engineer

We are looking for curious and energetic Junior Technical Support Engineers with a Linux background and knowledge of HTML, web technologies, basic system administration, networking, and DNS. As an open-source shop we develop exciting and unique solutions from the ground up and have the opportunity to understand how things work at the lowest levels and modify things to work as desired. This opportunity is designed for recent CS graduates or help desk staff looking for the next step. 


Primary job responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

  •     Triage incoming tickets to quickly identify bugs
  •      Provide end-user support for existing applications
  •      Troubleshoot basic DNS, networking and server configurations
  •      Implement basic client integration scripts and shell scripts
  •      Provide off-hours support via pager on rotating schedule

 Educational Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent or experience in IT Help Desk environment.

 Technical Requirements

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply technical analysis of application issues to solve customer reported problems
  • Ability to communicate with non-technical users
  • Ability to analyze and grasp user's needs.
  • Ability to work well within a team to learn and share knowledge.
  • Knowledge of basic web technologies (HTTP, cookies, FTP, SFTP)
  • Knowledge of databases including basic SQL a plus
  • Experience working in a customer-centric environment a plus
  • Knowledge of Perl (or other web programming languages) a plus
  • Experience debugging code written by other developers in production environments a plus
